While most people might bring back a souvenir or two from a getaway, Carolyn had something a little more creative in mind.

Currently living it up at a five-star holiday resort in the glamorous paradise of Stoke-on-Trent (yes, that Stoke), Carolyn has been sipping cocktails and relaxing in spa robes, all the while thinking of her husband Andy—who, back home, is chalking his cue and chasing his elusive snooker high score of 34.

In a moment of inspired generosity (or perhaps cheeky motivation), Carolyn commissioned none other than the Basement Musicians to write a song just for Andy. The brief? Capture his weekly snooker rituals, his noble quest for a break of 35, and his grand promise to build a snooker hall at the end of the garden should he succeed.

The result? “The Ballad of Andy’s Break”—a heartwarming, slightly ridiculous, and wonderfully catchy tribute to one man’s dream, four blacks, five reds, and a poxy yellow.

We hope this anthem gives Andy the nudge he needs to finally hit that magic number before Carolyn returns home—ideally with tales of luxury spas, and maybe a few less jokes about five-star life in Stoke.

Will this song be the cue that tips the balance? Will Andy finally pot his way into legend?

One thing’s for sure—he’s got a soundtrack now.
