How it all started.
KRE8 emerged from a simple desire to put together a fun story where my young nephew was to be the central character of the story. That in itself is nothing new these days, especially with the sheer volume of personalised e-book services that are available online. But what is unique about what KRE8 offers is not just a story for a particular child, but an overall experience that steps outside of the boundaries of what is commonplace.
How is your service different?
Each story begins by a seed being planted by the person requesting the story. We take the time to find out personal characteristics, and likes of the children involved, along with things such as friends, pets, family members, or anyone else you desire to become part of the storyline. Along with reference pictures of those to be involved in the storyline.
With a combination of ideas and input from our client, along with our own ideas and a little AI help too, we put together an outline for a storyline. Once this is agreeable to the client, we then put together a written draft of the initial chapter for client approval.
Once approval is given, we work the chapter into a fully illustrated Youtube video. Using AI tools we create a character to be the storyteller in the videos, and as the story is read, it is illustrated using Pixar style images we create from the likeness of those in the storyline. The aim being that anyone related to the characters in the story, will recognise the actual people from the Pixar style avatars, but to anyone not directly related, they will simply be storyline characters.
We usually aim for five chapters in a storyline, that will result in each video story being around 5 to 8 minutes in length. To allow for further input however, we allow comments from family and friends made on the Youtube videos to steer the storyline in a particular direction, rather than having it all planned out from start to finish. This has been found to be a really organic way for each storyline to develop, without having to let go of the reigns to far.
The aim is to release a new chapter every few days for duration of the story, however it doesn’t end there by any means! We want those participating to become really involved in their own personalised AI world for the duration. For that reason, we have also developed our own KRE8 News Room, manned by our own news reader Russell Sprout. During the span of the storyline, your story and the characters involved in it will find themselves in the news headlines! Not only that, but each news round is ended with a song written by the KRE8 Basement Musicians. And yes, you’ve guessed it. It will be a personalised song based on the storyline and those in it!
What exactly do I get?
First and foremost, you get a level of personalisation that in all honesty, I haven’t seen offered elsewhere. But if it is, I would be more than confident to say without doubt the cost may well be phenomenal. You will find that the more you’re willing to share in the way of information and ideas etc., the more you will get out of the experience. Obviously all the information you share is confidential, and will only be kept for the duration of creating the storyline.
In summary, you will get the following as part of your story package:
- A fully personalised storyline built around your child or children, along with those close to them.
- The storyline will be fully illustrated using Pixar style images we create using real people as the reference for each character.
- Each episode will be published on Youtube, and compiled into it’s own individual playlist.
- A cameo appearance in the KRE8 News Headlines read by Russell Sprout.
- Upon completion of the storyline, you will given a download link to download all mp3 files, and images created for use in the videos, along with an mp4 version of the video itself. All these are completely yours to do with as you wish, on the agreement that we can continue to use the images on our website, and in the Youtube videos that have been published.
- Each storyline will also be converted into an e-book format too, although this may be a little while after the story has completed. Once the e-book is ready however, you will also receive a complimentary copy of that too, before it is made available to the public as a downloadable e-book. We also include a dedication page for you to attach a personal message, or even a photo, to the book.
How do I order the service?
Because of all that’s involved in each storyline, we are only able to offer the service on a limited basis. So the first step is to simply get in touch and have a chat to see what’s available. Realistically we are limited to being able to run two storylines per month, due to the service being more of a personal hobby than a money making business model. So simply get in touch first, and we will do our utmost to arrange an acceptable time scale for your needs.
What is the cost?
As we’re sure many others are too, we get sick and tired of companies waving a juicy carrot in front of us, but hiding the price until we’re completely suckered in, so we refuse to do the same. After taking into account the time this service takes to put together, and the cost of various subscription services etc., which are vital tools, we have a set price of £249 for everything listed above. This will not be expected until the initial consultation has taken place, and a storyline has been agreed upon. Full payment will then initiate the creation process. Once the storyline has begun however, we are unable to offer refunds.
